HOME OF WINDYCREST ACRES APPALOOSAS

We are located in Northwest Missouri. We became interested in breeding and raising registered Appaloosas after we purchased a gelding for our daughter in 1983. Her gelding was the one that got us started loving Appaloosas. He had the best disposition. We also liked the colorful coat patterns. For several years we competed at local, and ApHC shows. Our stallion, Shado Of Sioux is a few spot leopard sired by nationally known champion Ha-Dar Shado and his dam is Stuff N Such. Shado has a nice disposition which he passes to his foals. His foals are generally easy to work with and like to be around people. We strive to produce horses that have a nice disposition and good conformation. Thank you for visiting our website.

Shados Miss Onyx is a 2006 mare sired by Shado Of Sioux and LadysMagicMelody. She is 15.1 hands, stout & nicely muscled. She was broke to ride in the fall of 2012 with just 30 days of riding at that time. We have ridden her on and off since then but not steady. She likes to move out. She is not a lazy horse. She should be able to do about anything if some one has the time to train her. She is doing very well with limited riding. The pictures below were taken in mid July of 2013. She was over weight at the time the pictures were taken since she was eating all the grass she wanted! She is up to date on her 4 way shot and wormer. We have decided not to sell Onyx.
